It’s Easter and most of us will be eating hot-cross buns, but could you possibly get drunk from consuming these yummy treats?
A video has caused uproar and confusion in South Africa showing how eating a hot cross bun could get you in trouble with the law.
The video shows a police officer using a breathalyzer to measure his alcohol levels before and after eating the treat, and the results are shocking, to say the least. The officer first breathed into the breathalyzer and measured at 0.0 mg. The officer then took a few bites of the yummy treat and repeated the test, the result this time was 0.21 mg.
The legal blood alcohol limit in South Africa is less than 0.05 g per 100 ml.
The legal breath alcohol limit in South Africa is less than 0.24 mg in 1000 ml of breath. If he had another hot cross bun and got behind the wheel, he’d get arrested.
