With Mamelodi Sundowns already confirmed as new PSL champions this season, all eyes will be on the relegation battle this weekend.
Supersport United, Ajax Captown, Baroka FC as well as Polokwane City will be fighting to avoid the drop as the season reaches climax.
Ajax who currently occupy 15th will have to produce a home win over Kaizer Chiefs in order to climb to safety‚ regardless of what happens in the other matches.
Two of their rivals, SuperSport and Baroka will clash to avoid 15th place, meaning‚ a victory for Ajax will see them definitely finish above one of those‚ no matter the result in the game.
SuperSport on the other hand will need to spring a home victory against fellow strugglers Baroka inorder to steer clear of the drop-zone.
A draw for Supersport will see them drop to 15th on goal-difference‚ which is inferior that of the Urban Warriors.
City will host Chippa United‚ who are looking to secure a top-eight place for next season.
A draw could be enough for City even if Chiefs loses to Ajax‚ as the Urban Warriors would need to win by three clear goals to overhaul the Limpopo side on goal-difference.
If City loses and SuperSport grinds out a point while Ajax win‚ then City will drop to 15th.
A defeat could also see them safe‚ even with an Ajax win‚ if SuperSport loses as the Pretoria side has an inferior goal-difference.
If Ajax defeats the glamour boys and Bakgakga succumbs to a SuperSport United defeat, then the Urban Warriors will overhaul Baroka on goal-difference.
That would then leave Bakgakga sweating on whether City get a point out of their final clash with Chippa.
If they do as well‚ then Baroka will drop to 15th.However, a point at SuperSport will ensure safety for Baroka‚ while a win for Baroka could see them climb into the top eight‚ though they too need other results to go their way.
A relegated Platinum Stars team will be replaced by newly promoted NFD side Highlands Park while second and third placed Black Leopards and Jomo Cosmos will do battle in the playoff against whoever occupies 15th spot in the PLS.
All PSL matches play Tomorrow at 3pm.
