It’s been two long days for a Limpopo family.
It all ended with the recovery of the body of their young child, Mighty Baloyi, who fell into a borehole pit on Saturday.
The one-year-old toddler’s body was recovered in the early hours of Monday morning, Limpopo police confirm.
“The body of a one year and six months old toddler who allegedly fell into a borehole pit at Joppe village in Letsitele policing area outside Tzaneen on Saturday, was finally retrieved in the early hours of this morning,” says provincial police spokesperson Constable Maphure Manamela.
Police search and rescue teams have been working around the clock, with the help of residents, to retrieve Baloyi’s tiny body.
An inquest docket is under investigation.
“Parents are urged to look after their children, especially the young ones as they constantly need supervision,” the police urge.
