East London Prison Hit Hard by COVID-19

The East London Correctional Services Centre now has 53 inmates that tested positive for COVID-19, a significant increase from Sunday. A total of 78 individuals have now contracted the disease.
Spokesperson Singabakho Nxumamlo says: “All those who have tested positive are currently in isolation, here I am talking about officials and inmates.” The department has identified cells reserved for quarantine and isolation purposes for the inmates, and officials are treated in guest houses within the correctional services facilities.
