“We are hungry. We’ve been hungry for eight months.”
Those are the words of DJ Tira speaking to Iman Rappettie on POWER Breakfast on Thursday, as he details the #VulaPresident campaign.

POWER 98.7 is a South African commercial radio station whose aim it is to sponsor the nation’s progress and create an authentic platform to discuss the news of our time.

On Wednesday, Durban-based artists took to the N2 near Chesterville, blocking the highway with a huge stage.
The protesters, dressed in black, complained about the difficulties in making ends meet since the shutdown of the entertainment industry in March.  Tira says its been a difficult period.

“It’s getting serious. We need to get back to work.” The group also say they are tired of surviving on charity and want to make money to take care of themselves and their families. This movement includes popular DJs such as Tira, DJ Happy gal, DJ Sox, Tzozo and more.
